Program is back in the crapper...

I thought I was making progress on the program last week, so of course it was back in the crapper this week. My jumps were completely missing on Monday, then I got the jumps back on Tuesday, but lost the spins. For today's lesson, I sucked at both. I'm waaaaay behind the music which makes me rush. Once I start rushing, I lose the ability to do anything remotely well.

After today's lesson, Coach K mentioned a few little things that could come out. It kind of sucked because they're all the little touches the IJS choreographer added that make the program really cool. Without them, I feel like I'm just skating around and doing jumps. I could have done that without paying $200+ for choreography.

I think a big part of the problem is going for higher level spins. The program is only 2:38 long, and I've got to do a spiral sequence, 6 jump passes, and 3 spins. If I'm doing level 2 or 3 spins, they take up almost a minute of my program. That leaves 1:38 to squeeze out 6 jumps and the spiral sequence. That's not much time... I'm sure the spins are worth more points than the few artistic touches that might have to come out, but I hate to lose the character of the program for them.
