You Get Up At What Time???

I used to have a rule. I'd skate early mornings as long as I didn't have to get up before 5am.

When I got my current job, that rule had to be broken. I've been getting up at 4:10am to skate at 5:30am (the only session that I can make).

Tomorrow (Friday), I will get up at 3:30am. I have a lesson with Chris Conte and Nick Perna scheduled at 5:00am. That means that I need to be there, warmed up, and ready for a lesson at 5:00am. Coach K said that if I can to get on the ice a few minutes early so that I'm ready to go for the lesson.

The things I do for skating...

    Wow! That's DEDICATION. Impressive.

I'm not there yet... (but then again, I have a soon-to-be-6-year old, and I'm sure he wouldn't like very much getting up at 5 am so mommy could skate ;) )

My GOD, Jennifer! I am so very impressed. I have a book with photos of Chris Conte in it. Great that you are having lesson with him! I'm proud of you for sticking with your skating. I remember when you were having motivation problems. You certainly aren't having them now! Janet

I think that getting a new coach who is really excited about goal setting has really helped with my motivation. That, and getting used to being up before the sun. I don't have time to mess around if I'm going to test Juv. FS, Adult Gold FS, and junior MITF, as well as rechoreo. my test program for nationals (will need to add doubles instead of singles) and choreo. an interp. program all in less than a year! It sure gives me good reason to be at the rink. I'm actually glad to be single and unattached right now (sure does simplify life) b/c between skating, running, and working, I don't have time for much else.
