Novice Moves - Comments

As promised, here are the judges' comments. (Note: 3.5 is passing for each move, 24.5 is passing total, the order of the moves are 1. inside/inside 3's, 2. quick rockers, 3. o/s counters, 4. i/s counters, 5. back rocker-choctaw, 6. spirals, 7. brackets)

judge #1 - pass at 24.6
1. good form/posture/extension, poor power, cw slower (3.4)
2. lacking power, but end turns very nice and neat (3.4)
3. started slow but gained power as went, good rhythm and deep edges (3.6)
4. deep edges, easy turns, good power (3.6)
5. ok, like more power, but good form (3.5)
6. beautiful positions, edges ok (3.6)
7. could be quicker, but steady (3.5)

judge #2 - pass at 24.5
1. cl-2 foot glide is a short pause to shift weight not a pose, neatly skated end; ccl-end pattern not smooth (3.4)
2. not bending/pushing on sides for power, end slow and deliberate (3.4)
3. changes close to turn, maintains flow (3.5)
4. holds edge almost to turn, maintains flow (3.5)
5. nice stability of upper body (3.5)
6. lovely position/edges (3.6)
7. well controlled body motion (3.6)

judge #3 - retry at 24.2
1. good quality stroking with well controlled 3's ccl; weaker/less control ccw (3.4)
2. form good, but lacks power&attack, slow foot speed in turns, maintains consistent speed (3.4)
3. diagonal exit edge to counter, good speed and power, no kneebend (3.4)
4. maintains speed and power, one diagonal counter, no knee bend (3.4)
5. controls rotation, on correct edged, good flow (3.5)
6. solid secure edge with great symetrical extension, maintains flow (3.6)
7. overall maintains speed&flow, controls rotation (3.6)
