Quick Update

Skated Friday at the dumpy rink near my home. The most annoying hockey dad and kids ever were there. I don't know why hockey dads that can barely skate themselves feel the need to send their kids careening dangerously around the rink. The kids took several falls where they hit their heads, but were thankfully not hurt.

Didn't skate Monday due to a dentist appointment.

Skated Tuesday at the dumpy rink near my boyfriend's house. There were a few kids and a speed skater there, so I didn't practice much MITF. Instead, I worked on theses fancy edge pulls that the high level kids do at the dumpy rink near my house. It goes: FO counter, change edge, BI counter, change edge, repeat. Or: FI counter, change edge, BO counter, change edge, repeat. Basically you're going FO,turn,BO,back edge pull to BI,turn,FI,forward edge pull to FO, repeat down the ice (if you're doing the FO counter pattern). The trick is to make each edge an edge pull, not just the actual edge pulls. Very, VERY tricky. I can get them all the way down the long side of the rink, but my turns are a bit skidded. Also tried a few jumps at the end. Axels were feeling kind of floaty and nice. Then proceeded to land about 20 2salchows on my rear end. What can I say, I'm just not a jumper.

Had a lesson today, but don't have time to post right now. Will add it tomorrow!
