Good News/Bad News
I got some good news today - I've been promoted! I've been working part-time at nights which stinks because I have to pay for medical/dental insurance. My promotion will be to a full-time position that's 30miles closer to my home and has medical/dental benefits. A winner all the way around! Except for when it comes to skating. I've been living the skating life of luxury the past 2 months. I was working at night, so I had a season pass for virtually empty daytime publics. Now, I'll be working 8am-4pm like a normal adult. I'm going to have to push my practices to the 6am freestyle sessions which are $12 per hour at the nice rink or $8 per hour at the dumpy rink that's 20min. away. I'll probably only skate 4 days for 1 hour each at those prices. And those sessions will be crowded. There's nothing like doing mitf patterns the wrong way in a sea of 6-12yr old jumping beans that all think they're going to the olympics. Ah, well. I have to pay the bills.
I didn't skate Friday due to having my first root canal - really didn't hurt at all. And today, I was just being plain lazy and slept in.
I'll have to get in some quality practice tomorrow to prepare for my lesson on Wed. Coach said that we can look at flying camels which are in the hall of shame right now (meaning so ugly that I won't practice them even when it's only me and the janitor in the rink).

Thanks! I'm excited that I'll be able to pay my bills - I just hope I can find some empty morning ice to practice mitf. It'll be tough to be productive if I have to skate with 15-20 little jumping beans every day.
