My double toe is getting closer. I really hope I can land it at Sectionals. I'm landing maybe 1 out of 10 attempts right now, and they're pretty strong jumps, even when I fall. I think at this point, I just need more confidence. Right now, I'm landing, and by the time I realize that I haven't fallen, it's too late to check out, and I sit straight down. I need to believe that I am going to land this jump! (And, keeping my left hip up wouldn't hurt either.)
I was a total spaz on my program yesterday and today, but I think that's just normal for me when I start getting nervous about an event. Yesterday, I turned out of my flip jump and fell out of my inside edge upright spin which I literally cannot remember ever messing up before. I also did a click of death on the xover into my footwork. I didn't fall, but I couldn't get my blades unstuck and missed half of my footwork! Today, I fell on my lutz, popped an axel, and fell on my flying camel-back sit. Even with all of that craziness, I'm skating pretty well. I'm learning to work through the nervousness and stay on track. Every mistake is not the end of the world.
I didn't get to run through my interp today. I got really focused on the freeskate, and ran out of time. Bad skater! I really need to do more runthroughs so that I don't forget the choreo. again!
Coach K and I put together my spin routine. It's pretty basic: 3turns into a flying camel, little footwork into bauer into sit/backsit, outside edge spread eagle into camel/backsit. The only hard part is going to be fitting all of that into 1:15. I'd better move my butt. Oh, I took out a spiral to save time. Hopefully it'll still look ok and Coach K will let it slide...
